About me
Well hello there! I’m Mercedes Maitland, a 28 year old science communicator and lifelong learning enthusiast. I was born and raised alongside the many beautiful lakeshores of Northeastern Ontario, Canada. I left to study biological anthropology and archaeology at Trent University, including adventures to study and excavate in France and Scotland’s Orkney Islands. I came back for a Master’s in Science Communication at Laurentian University. When I’m not editing, you can find me hoarding fantasy novels and National Geographic Magazines, strategizing on building a free and fair post-colonial world, traipsing through the woods, or listening to a podcast, of course!
